THANKS FOR COMING!  I would like to welcome you to our website.  It is our hope and prayer that this site will help you discover Lakeside.  Furthermore, it is my desire to meet you personally in the days to come.  Whether you see me at church or in the community, it would be my honor to meet you face to face. 

Happy Birthday America!  We are 234 years young.  What a mighty history the United States of America has had.  I pray that we will have just as great a future.  But the clouds on the horizon look dark at this point.  We have for the first time in our history a leader who does not recognize America as a Christian nation.  A leader who snubs the National Day of Prayer but had time to meet with a group of Muslims last September for a time of prayer.  We now have a leader who is not supportive of Israel.  As Abram traveled by the direction of Jehovah God, He promised Abram; "I will make you into a great nation (Israel), I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Genesis 12:2-3

America it is time to wake up!  It is time for the church to rise to the occassion.  In the words of George Washington in his Inaugural address in 1789:  "The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained."  One thing that our founding fathers realized that is not understood in Washington today is that if our nation ever loses her Christian character that America will no longer be the beacon to the world that it has been for these past 234 years.

Charles Stanley asked on his television program for Christians to pray for our nation over the next 140 days (20 weeks).  I asked Lakeside Baptist Church to join with him in doing so.  On Sunday, July 4, 2010, 700 people stood to make that commitment at Lakeside.  Join with us in praying as 2 Chronicles 7:14 states:  "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray; and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."
