Children's Ministry

The children's ministry at Lakeside exists to glorify God by assisting families to train their children in the love and discipline of the Lord. We believe that what is learned in childhood will be the foundation of the rest of a person's life. Every activity we do is focused on Matthew 22:39 "'And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’" Come join us as we help parents train up a new generation of people who love the Lord with their entire being!

The Kid's Place is an intensive Sunday School hour with large group games and singing and also small group training appropriate to their grade level. Don't miss out on this fun filled adventure of learning God's Word! Plus, you just might get to go through the Obstacle Course!

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed.

The AWANA clubs are found in many churches around the world. Through memorization of scripture and projects, children learn to hide God's Word in their hearts. Some children memorize over 100 verses every year! We meet every Wednesday night from 6:15-7:45 PM (while school is in session).

Children's Music Workshop

Every Sunday Night (Fall Semester starts Sept. 23rd)
5:00 pm in Children's Building

The Children's Music Workshop exists to promote the spiritual growth of every child and to teach each child to be a worship leader for the future. They do this by giving the children opportunities to develop a love and joy for worship. Through learning good musical habits, skills, and concepts, as well as building confidence, the children can use these skills for a lifetime of worship.

Get Soaked! Vacation Bible School

Last year we had over 500 children register to be apart of the second annual Get Soaked! Vacation Bible School at Splash Kingdom Water Park. The children learned through Bible stories, scripture memory, songs, and games that Jesus has the power to protect us from the storms of life and we can trust Him. The dates for this year's Get Soaked! VBS are August 10-12, 2009.

SWOC (Summer Week of Choir)

SWOC is a one week intensive music camp for children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade. The children learn and present an entire musical in one week! There are times of Bible study, Bible quizzing, crazy games, dynamic activities, and a week full of singing. The dates for Summer Week of Choir 2009 are July 6-12. Registration begins May 1. Auditions will be held on May 16 and May 23, starting at 9am.

The camp begins each day at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 3:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday. On Friday, camp begins at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 12:00 Noon. Lunch will be provided Monday through Thursday. (No lunch on Friday.) The camp registration fee is $50.00 per child and this provides your child with a T-Shirt, picture, book, CD of the musical (one per family), lunch, and a fun filled week of activities.
