Family

One of the favorite songs of Lakeside, in the early days of the church was, “The Family of God.”   In fact it is the song we sang every Sunday as we held hands to conclude the worship services.  Being a part of God’s forever family is such a delight and joy.  But there is so much more to being a part of God’s Family.  It is a forever family that we will walk with throughout eternity.  And no matter what church you belong to, every Bible believing, Christ honoring and Jesus exalting church we find fellowship together.  Recently, I read a youth ministers encouragement to his students to attend See You at the Pole and do not try to make your youth group or even your church better than the others.  He implored them to beg God to work mightily on their particular camps.  AND he was exactly correct.  Far too many church members and churches themselves have set an enemy mentality between believers and congregations.  The Bible says it this way; “I am a companion of all those who Fear You and of those who keep Your precepts.”  Psalm 119:63  So the next time you hear anyone speak negatively about a sister church, simply say, “I wish you would speak kinder about my family.”
