Countdown to NTS 2026

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience celebrated worldwide, centered on God’s love, value and honor for individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 14 and older. Lakeside Baptist Church is excited to be partnering with the Tim Tebow Foundation for the 7th year hosting Night to Shine in Van Zandt County, Texas.
February 13, 2026

This incredible event is hosted every year on the Friday before Valentine’s Day by over 700 churches across the globe, serving over 150,000 teens and adults with special needs, and bringing congregations, communities, and families living with disability closer together.

What does Night to Shine Look Like?
Every guest of Night to Shine enters this free event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from the Canton cheerleaders, football players and paparazzi. They are matched with a "buddy" volunteer for the evening. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair, makeup and shoe shining stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, photo booth, dinner, prom favors for each honored guest and, of course, dancing! Each guest takes part in a special ceremony where they are crowded "king" or "queen" for the night. Offering them a moment of joy, acceptance, and empowerment - helping to communicate their value and the plan God has for each one of them!
A special complementary Respite Dinner for Parents and Caregivers is hosted by First Baptist Church Canton just minutes away from the event at Lakeside. We hope it be be a place family can also have a special time to relax and connect with other parents knowing their honored guest is having a blast and is well taken care of! After the dinner, family/caregivers are welcome to return to the Sanctuary at Lakeside Baptist to watch the Crowning Ceremony live!

As no one is allowed INSIDE the event unless they are a special needs Honored Guest, or on the list of pre-approved volunteers; then for Parents/Caregivers wanting to spend the full evening with their Honored Guest, we've made it easier this year on both the respective Guest and Volunteer Registration forms for a family member or a caregiver to be matched for that purpose. On the Honored Guest Registration there is a section to enter in that info if they select the option to "Bring their own Buddy". Likewise, on the Volunteer Registration form there is a section for individuals who are registering to be a Buddy for a specific Honored Guest. More...
